1. What is a Joomla! quickstart?

The quickstart is a copy of the demo for the template. The quickstart is available in the download package and it's a .zip archive that includes these 3 elements:

  3. JOOMLA!

For this reason the quickstart installs like a default Joomla! installation.

The quickstart does NOT install like a Joomla! template, so please don't try to install the quickstart using the EXTENSIONS/MANAGE/INSTALL menu inside the Joomla!'s administrator area.

2. Install the quickstart like a default Joomla! installation

The quickstart installs like a normal Joomla! installation, so you must copy the quickstart .zip achive into a location on your server, extract it and start the installation process by targeting that location in your browser:

3. Choose the Default Sample Data

After you have provided the database connection details, you need to select the DEFAULT SAMPLE DATA option on the final step of your installation. Without this option selected, you will just install a blank Joomla! installation instead of our quickstart:

4. Your installation is complete

After completing the installation of our quickstart, this message will be available:

FavThemes quickstart complete

Don't forget to remove the installation folder by accessing the REMOVE INSTALLATION FOLDER button. After removing the installation folder, you can access your new website using the SITE button and your new administrator area using the ADMINISTRATOR button.
The first thing you should do after the installation was successful is to check for any Joomla! updates ! The Joomla! team provides constant security updates and is very important to keep your instance up to date !
