The downloaded package for the module is a .zip archive that needs to be unzipped before use. After it has been unzipped, inside the downloaded package you will find:

  1. the module's .zip archive - must to be installed using EXTENSIONS/MANAGE/INSTALL
  2. the ReadMe.txt file - has useful information about the product

Once installed, find the module in EXTENSIONS/MODULES and open it:

  1. YOUR GOOGLE API KEY - Your Google API key. Your map WILL NOT work without it. If you don't have one, please follow the instructions provided by the Google Maps documentation: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/adding-a-google-map#key.
  2. MAP HEIGHT - Insert the height value for the map using pixels (for example: 140px , not 140). A blank field reverts the setting to the default value.

Without a Google Maps API Key, once it is installed, FavLocation displays this message:

2. Location Options

  1. LOCATION NAME OR COORDINATES - The location you want to be marked and displayed on the map. This can be either a full address or a set of GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude, separated by comma).
  2. MAP PIN TITLE - The text you want to display for your location when hovering the map pin.
  3. MAP PIN DESCRIPTION - The description you want to display for your location when clicking the map pin.
  4. USE HIKASHOP STORE ADDRESS - Use the store address configured in HikaShop to fill in the map location and pin description instead of configuring them using the LOCATION NAME and MAP PIN DESCRIPTION settings. A valid address is needed for this setting to be enabled.

  1. MAP TYPE - Choose a map type for your location.
  2. PIN IMAGE - Upload the image for the map pin. A blank field reverts the setting to the default value.
  3. DEFAULT ZOOM LEVEL - Choose the zoom level the map will use by default. A blank field reverts the setting to the default value.
  4. MIN ZOOM LEVEL - Choose the min zoom level the map will allow. A blank field reverts the setting to the default value.
  5. MAX ZOOM LEVEL - Choose the max zoom level the map will allow. A blank field reverts the setting to the default value.
  6. SCROLL WHEEL - Enable or disable the scroll wheel while the cursor is on the map.
  7. DISABLE DEFAULT UI - Disable any automatic UI behaviour from the Google Maps JavaScript API.
  8. ZOOM CONTROL - Disable or enable the Zoom Control feature.
  9. ZOOM CONTROL POSITION - Choose the position for the Zoom Control.
  10. MAP TYPE CONTROL - Disable or enable the Map Type Control feature.
  11. MAP TYPE CONTROL POSITION - Choose the position for the Map Type Control.
  12. SCALE CONTROL - Disable or enable the Scale Control feature.
  13. SCALE CONTROL POSITION - Choose the position for the Scale Control.
  14. STREET VIEW CONTROL - Disable or enable the Street View Control feature.
  15. STREET VIEW CONTROL POSITION - Choose the position for the Street View Control.
  16. ROTATE CONTROL - Disable or enable the Rotate Control feature.
  17. ROTATE CONTROL POSITION - Choose the position for the Rotate Control.
  18. FULL SCREEN CONTROL - Disable or enable the Full Screen Control feature.
  19. FULL SCREEN CONTROL POSITION - Choose the position for the Full Screen Control.

Being a responsive module, this Joomla! module has no fixed width. The maximum width of the module is the width of the module position containing the module and/or the width of the device used (desktop, tablet or mobile). To test the responsive behaviour of the module columns, simply adjust the width of the browser window to different sizes.
